With the Quick Check, dp convinced the medium-sized company of the value-oriented application of a management consultancy for rapid change transparency, also in family-type business cultures.
The medium-sized machine manufacturer develops, sells and manufactures series and special machines with a high level of vertical integration. The recipe for success of a high level of vertical integration from the past was combined with high investments by the former management in new skills and automation. This orientation of the company has met with reduced and more volatile demand in the last 3 years. This caused the deterioration of profits.
In a very limited time of only 3 weeks, the company was to be examined by dp with a quick check and a high level of external expertise and an operational improvement plan was drawn up. The Quick Check included a functional analysis of 10 examination units, cost center and hourly rate analyses as well as contract analyses in special machine construction. Numerous levers for improvement were identified in 9 fields of work and planned in each sub-project. The concept is now being implemented internally.
